Haleigh Brown is the head competitive cheer coach for Jefferson High School. Haleigh is from Sioux Falls, SD, and a graduate of Sioux Falls Roosevelt High School.
Haleigh’s past cheerleading experiences include participating in Competitive and Sideline cheerleading at Roosevelt High School for four years. Haleigh also was an all-star cheerleader for seven years. While involved in cheer, Haleigh helped coach other teams, specialty classes, and individual lessons with athletes. Haleigh is a graduate of the University of South Dakota with a bachelors degree in Political Science and a Minor in History.
Sideline Cheer Coach: Dawn Bonham
Dawn Bonham has coached for 21 years both competitive and sideline. She spent two years at Bonesteel,-Fairfax, SD, 6 years at Scotland, SD, and ten years in Pierre before coaching the competitive team at LHS for three years. While in Pierre, her boys basketball cheer team won Spirit of Six in 2001. In 2008 she took her first competitive team to the state tournament and won first in small group stunting/tumbling division and first in small group stunting/non tumbling division. In 2009 in her second year of competition, her small group stunting/tumbling team was champion in that respective division. Bonham served on the Competitive Cheer/Sideline Cheer Advisory Committee for the South Dakota High School Activities Association. She was a rules interpreter and conducted numerous AACCA and Spirit Program Management courses for the SDHSAA. In 2007 she was named the head coach of the All Star Cheer Squad. Bonham served as both the vice-president and president of the SD Cheer Coaches Association.
After a 10 year break, Dawn is excited to coach sideline cheer at JHS!
